The Adventures of Sprinkles and Nuts!

It all began a couple of weeks ago on one of McKenna's and my weekly Sunday visits...

It was dark. Cold. Dreary. And we were tired.

Just kidding! Really, we were looking for some adventure... the itch was... well... itching!Adventure was calling, and we picked up the phone! :-)

Feeling a tad bit rebellious (if you could call it that), we spontaneously decided (because, believe us, everything is thrilling that way) to expand upon our plan to dance in the rain to run... in the rain... across the road to the farm across the street... in our bare feet! (Yeah, real rebellious, huh?)

We took off at lightning speed, feet adjusting to the sting of cold, wet gravel beneath them. Our rush of thrill and excitement was unexplainable! We hadn't told anyone that we had taken off the way we did (maybe mentioned we were going to our Mom so as not to be thought to have ran away), which added to our "rush of rebellion!" We daintily leaped across the gravel and eventually decided that it's sharpness was too lame for our prescense and decided to lunge for the *cough- softer- cough* grass below the nieghbor's yard. We raced toward the farm... feeling the rush... heart pounding... the wind (and humidity) in our face... clothes damp...

The adventure had begun!

We raced on in our barefeet, and eventually reached the path that we usually follow in the field. Once again, tip-toeing through the prickly patch of green, we laughed at our "rebelliousness" and remini---

*instantaneous stop*

We saw... someone. Someone who was obviously tresspassing (as if we weren't [we were just more welcome])... someone who was right at the end of our path.... someone who was staring right at us.

By this time big brother and little sister had caught up with us (jealous of our adventure, we suppose) and we had stopped cold. We began to well... FREAK... and ran in the opposite direction, completely ignoring the utter pain out feet were suffering.

We got about 300 yards away from where we had spotted the stranger (well, potential rapist, we think ;-) ) and believed the mountain man had fled, so why not go back and continue our adventure? We decided to continue on after a momentary break for hydration and emptying oneself, most definitely bringing along the camera.

But this time started out a little differently. We made up our minds to, instead of just walking out the door like regular rebels, we were going to climb out of a high window, one that we weren't sure would allow room for our persons.

Yeah. That one. So, adventuer still calling, we hoisted ourselves upand through, wiggling, jiggling, and giggling it all the way outside and darted off again!

We went back and much to our relief, we met no potential rap--- strangers along the way, though we were just a little bit frightened he may be hiding in the bushes... but adventure requires no fear, doesn't it?

No, it doesn't.

We went along the path and decided to put on our elf-ish identities. We caourageously battled cold, damp, sticks and prickly thingies, shielding ourselves with anything and everythign that could possible protect us on our journey. The siblings? They were on their own. And with that, we all headed into the dark woods.

Battling the unknown (illness, ogresm dargons, bloodthritsy bears, fake frog princes who don't turn into princes even when you bravely kiss their toad-y bodies... the usual...) Sprinkles and Nuts heroically reached the Tree of Life, but let our personal bodyguard handle the getting the flower of light and safety, and headed home with our light and even decided to walk THROUGH the telephone poles, not AROUND them! *GASP*

(The next few pictures are from all that)

(The Phoney Frog Prince)

(Our personal bodygard/tour guide and the Flower of Light and Safety)

(A touch more of rebellion...)

And the rest is history! We ended the evening with an attempyt (on McKenna's-er, Nuts- part... Jordan's- Sprinkles- was succesful!) of climbing up on top of the big white bus, and when that failed... the roof... which failed... so we settled for the deck.
All in all, it was epic!! Another story to tell the grandchildren :-)
Hope y'all enjoyed our adventures... more to come- We PROMISE!! ;-)

But mostly (okay, all) McKenna
